The signed document allows the Philippines to have access to New Zealand's quality of education and use it as a comparative analysis to improve our country's bachelor degrees. President Duterte describes the new agreement a good development for our country.
According to ABS CBN News, Adern and other dialogue partners of ASEAN were in Manila for this year's summit. In the meeting, Ardern mentioned the phenomenal job that Filipino-born politician Romeo Udanga did during the New Zealand election that happened early in 2017.
Another reason for Adern to be pleased is Philippine Airlines' plans to launch direct New Zealand flights starting this December which is a "fantastic opportunity" for both countries. No further information was released regarding the signed memorandum but it is assumed that it will do nothing but great improvement in the Philippines' education system.
This isn't the only good development that our President was able to accomplish during ASEAN summit this year. It is earlier reported that he also wants Indian pharmaceutical countries to penetrate the Philippine market. This will not only make our relationship with India stronger but make medicines a lot cheaper.
Meanwhile, Japan also agreed to help the Philippines build Manila's first every subway. The new project is expected to be completed by 2027 and will significantly improve the transportation in the country. With the subway's capacity to transport a total of 500,000 commuters each day and will run from Mindanao Avenue to Taguig and may even reach NAIA.
