It is Now Easier to Apply for a South Korea Visa for Filipinos

Korean Embassy just made it easier for Filipinos to apply for a tourist visa. Instead of lining up all day in the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Filipinos just need to give their complete requirements to any of the 35 travel agencies certified by the embassy.

According to Inquirer.net, the Korean embassy said they have received large numbers of application for the visa so they decided to start the new policy. In 2015, the number of visa applicants was only 90,000 which grew to 120,000 in 2016. And last year, the number continued to grow to 160,000 total visa applicants.

The embassy is aware that their applicants had to stand the hot weather outside their embassy for long hours just to wait for their turn. With the new policy, applicants no longer need to wait in long lines as the travel agency will assist in processing it for them.

The only walk-in applicants the embassy will accept for a temporary visitor's visa will be for children and spouses of Koreans, government employees on an official business trip, holders of visa issuance number and applicants that need to travel Korea urgently for humanitarian reasons.
