Cebu Pacific Passengers Can Refund Terminal Fee for Missed Flights

When a passenger missed taking his or her Cebu Pacific flight to anywhere in the Philippines or the world, they are entitled to get a refund of the terminal fee they paid. There are no exceptions to the refund. As long as the passenger missed his flight, they can claim their refund from Cebu Pacific.

As of March 1, Cebu Pacific said they have already refunded 300 million pesos to passengers who weren't able to make it to their scheduled flights. And approximately 250 million pesos is still waiting to be claimed. According to GMA, Cebu Pacific said "All the fees we collected are accounted for. There is no exception no? We have collected this on behalf of the government, we have always been clear on that. This is not our money,"

Last Thursday, Senator Grace Poe also said passengers who missed their flight can and should claim their unused terminal fee from its respective airline company. This is applicable not only to Cebu Pacific but also to Philippine Airlines or any other airline.  Civil Aeronautics Board or CAB also explained that the terminal fee is not part of the passenger's fare so a passenger truly has the right to get it back if they were not able to take their flight.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez also warned airlines that he will file plunder cases against them if they fail to remit back to the government the terminal fees.

How to Claim the Terminal Fee Refund

Although the airlines didn't mention the exact procedure how to get the refund, they did say customers can claim the refund by simply asking for it. For more information, it is encouraged to call Cebu Pacific's customer service.
