Work in Japan: Filipinos Needed in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers

Good news for Filipinos: Japan is accepting Pinoy applicants for Assistant Language Teacher positions for 2019. Accepted applicants will be working in different prefecture local boards or public schools as an assistant to Japanese Teachers of English.



Requirements to Apply as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan

To be a qualified applicant for the job position in Japan, one must be a Filipino citizen, able to speak English properly, willing to work in Japan and be physically and mentally healthy.

In addition, one must also be willing to deepen their appreciation and understanding of Japan by participating and initiating international exchange activities in the local communities. At least a Bachelor's degree holder, in English or Education is preferred but not required.

Of course, it is also required that the applicant is interested in teaching kids, with preference to applicants who are qualified as a language teacher or is strongly motivated for jobs like it.

Additional evaluation points will also be given to applicants with teaching qualifications or experience, JLPT passer or with any Japanese language/study background, and have experienced traveling or living outside the Philippines.

Unfortunately, applicants that have lived in Japan for 6 years or more since 2008 is not qualified for the position.

How to Apply for a Job in Japan

Interested applicants must submit all requirements by January 7, 2019, in person or by courier to Japan Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City 1300.
