Technical-vocational education can now be availed for free by Filipino citizens who are looking for work or wish to improve their skills and abilities. This is after President Rodrigo Duterte signed the law allowing job seekers or employees free access to TESDA's technical-vocation education courses.

Republic Act 11230 "Tulong Trabaho Act"

The law was signed last February 22 which also implements the Philippine Labor Force Competencies Competitiveness Program. Its main goal is to make our citizens more qualified to the evolving needs of companies today. These programs will be enforced by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

How to enroll in the FREE courses?

The benefits of the Tulong Trabaho Act are Filipino citizens that are currently unemployed, at least 15 years old, and not currently enrolled, under training or employed by a company who intend to improve their skills and training. Unfortunately, employees of enterprise-based firms or industries are not eligible for this program.

According to ABS-CBN news, each of TESDA's industry organization who will need funding for this program will just need to submit a list of their trainees availing the program to the regional directors. The list will then be assessed and will be approved by the director general of TESDA.
