According to Rappler, India has one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world. They are known for providing generic medicines that account up to 20% of global experts. Their medicines are said to be significantly cheaper than medicines from American companies.
Although Duterte was also open for other industries in India to invest in the Philippines,“ I’m more interested, really, in the medicines because we are a poor country, but you know how it is with America,". He said he admired Mahindra, an Indian automobile company, as almost 1,000 cars are already being used by Philippine National Police.
Prime Minister Modi, on the other hand, thanked the President for meeting him. He said the Philippines organized the 31st ASEAN in a "very nice way". In a tweet posted in his official Twitter account, he said he had a productive meeting with the President and talked about enhancing the business, trade and culture between India and Philippines.

Aside from India's PM, President Duterte also met with United States of America President Donald Trump. However, the meeting was held privately. Trump has nothing but good words to say about President Duterte and even requested him to sing a song at the gala. The President sang a duet with legendary singer Pilita Corrales.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nation was first established in 1962 in Thailand. It was signed by its founding founders namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. Later on, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Lao PDR also joined, making up the 10 ASEAN Member States that we all have today.
