According to Interaksyon.com, Lopez says she did it due to call of nature. She also said that she saw other cars in the ASEAN lanes before she tried to get in. Unfortunately, MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago is not buying it. Based on the video Lopez posted, it's unlikely that she is doing it due to call of nature as she looks like she is proud and flaunting being a pasaway. It can be remembered that Lopez even used the hashtag #BeLikeMaria and pasaway.
According to DOTr, the former beauty queen is facing three violations which include disregarding traffic signs, reckless driving, and violation of the anti-distracted driving act. MMDA says what she did only shows why she shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle. Her actions can endanger the public and the security of the heads of state of different countries. It is a very serious breach of security.
Meanwhile, her Instagram post also showed how people perceived her actions. Although she was proud of what she did, most netizens were actually disappointed in her actions. Instagram user stylish_mom said "stupidity at it's finest", user sleepypandabear said, "Do you really need to post it pa on social media?"
