President Duterte and Steven Seagal Gives Pep Talk to PH Soldiers

President Rodrigo Duterte meets Hollywood celebrity Steven Seagal again in Jolo, Sulu. The actor joined the president as he speaks encouraging words to boost the morale of Philippine soldiers. At the moment, our soldiers are battling communist rebels and extremists.

According to ABS CBN News, the president said Seagal was very willing to join him in Jolo, Sulu. The actor didn't mind the risks of visiting the province which made Philippine troops happy. This is when the president invited the Hollywood celebrity to give the troops a few inspiring words.

“Alam mo, gusto ko ring marinig ang mga boses nito. Nagkita kami pero sandali lang. So I’d like to invite Mr. Steven Seagal to give us about a few words of your thoughts about the Filipinos and the sacrifices that my soldiers have to do and maybe some inspiring words,”said the President.

Seagal graciously obliged to President Duterte's request and gave a short message to Filipino soldiers. He commended the troops for their commitment to the Philippines, the Commander-in-Chief and to do what is needed to keep the country safe.

“I understand that this is serious business and I believe there is a formula that can help the Armed Forces, the police, the intelligence network, to combat this very well,” Seagal added.

The actor also said he understands that this battle will take a long time but slowly, there will be progress and there will come a time when it will be finished.

This isn't the first time the actor met Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. They first met in Malacanang last October since the actor will be in the country for a while to shoot a television series titled "Commander General". It is co-produced by Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Councilor Chavit Singson.

President Duterte is in Jolo, Sulu for the Order of Lapu-Lapu which is an award only given to private individuals and civil servants who have given invaluable service to a campaign of the President.
