And on its opening day, many people lined up to personally see the newly opened world-class museum. It features many historic pieces about the country which includes a replica of the biggest crocodile "Lolong" that was held in captivity, the majestic tree of life as the museum's main attraction and a replica of Tinuy-an, the Philippine eagle that was shot to death in 2008. In addition, the museum also showcases replicas of a Spot-billed Pelican, whale sharks, mantra ray, fishes endemic in the Philippines, starfish, and a lot more.
According to reports, the museum will add more historic pieces in the future including exhibits about geology and biodiversity. As of today, the museum is categorized by "The Marine Realm", "Intertidal Zones", and the "Mangroves", and "Beaches".
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. It is situated in the former building occupied by Department of Tourism inside the Rizal Park near the Agrifina Circle. Visitors are not allowed to bring backpacks or big bags inside so we encourage bringing small messenger bags instead.
Kids, adults, and seniors will surely enjoy a visit to the museum. Seats are available around the museum to rest the tired feet of the seniors or kids.
For people interested to visit the museum soon, it is strongly recommended to arrive early to avoid long lines. This will also make it easier for people to take solo pictures of each transaction. The place gets pretty packed during the afternoon so its hard to get a good shot of everything.
