Qualifications to apply for the StuFAPs program
To apply for the StuFAPs program, CHED only requires the student to be a Filipino citizen, a high school graduate or a passer of Alternative Learning System (ALS) / Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT). Candidates for graduation or with earned units in college are also qualified. Also, the parents or guardians of the student must not have a combined annual gross income over 300,000 Pesos. Lastly, the student must not be a graduate of any degree program.
Documents needed to apply:
For graduating students (currently at their 4th year in high school), their 3rd-year grade and the first three grading periods of their 4th year must be submitted. For high school graduates, only Form 138 is needed. As for applicants with earned units in college, the grade of each completed subject will be needed. A certificate of good moral character will also be required for each applicant.
As for the parents, they will be required any of the following:
- Latest Income Tax Return
- Certificate of Tax Exemption
- Certificate of Indigency from the Barangay
- Case Study from the Department of Social Welfare and Development
- Affidavit of No Income
- Latest contract or proof of income for OFW and seafarers
Priority Courses that qualified beneficiaries can enroll:
Students who qualify in the program can only choose from the list of CHED's priority courses. These courses include Information Technology, Agriculture and Related Fields, Teacher Education, Science and Math, Engineering, Health Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Business Administration and related courses, Architecture, Maritime, and Communication. How to apply for the scholarship:
It is important to note that CHED only accepts the application from February to April. All applicants must fill-up the CHED StuFAPs application form and submit it with the required documents to CHED Regional Office or to any of the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) that the applicant wishes to enroll to.
