According to Inquirer.net, SunRay Power Inc. will be developing a solar project in Tarlac's New Clark city that is worth 8.5 billion pesos. The new city will be situated in Capas and Bamban, Tarlac in a 9,450-hectare land. It will be the first environment-friendly city in the country and will be constructed in a 256-hectare property.
Carlos P. Gatmaitan, the president of SPI and CEO, said his company is excited to work on this new solar project as they partner with Bases Conversion Development Authority. They hope to have a long-term partnership with the latter and look forward to doing more projects together. He also said that the solar project will be a proof that the government and the private sector can work together in achieving a common goal. And that is to provide a clean, green and a sustainable community in the Philippines.
New Clark City is the first multi-billion solar project in the country that aims to create an environment-friendly community in the country. This will not only save mother earth but bring financial benefit to many businesses and improve the lives of their residents as well. It wasn't announced when the project will be completed but it is assumed it will be in the next couple of years. Hopefully, more projects like this can be done all-around the Philippines.
